Draft Plan Strategy Representations
Publication of Representations
In accordance with Regulation 17 of the Planning (Local Development Plan) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015, notice is hereby given that Newry, Mourne and Down District Council is publishing the representations received during the statutory public consultation period for its Local Development Plan 2035 – Draft Plan Strategy.
The consultation period for any representations to be made commenced on Friday 27 June 2025 and ended at 5pm on Monday 22 September 2025.
Please note the consultation period is now closed and there is no opportunity to make a representation at this time.
The consultation period for any counter representations to be made commenced on Friday 30 January 2026 and ended at 5pm on Monday 20 April 2026. For further information on counter representations click here.
Availability of Representations
The representations are available to inspect on the Council’s website below and in hard copy during office hours, 9am to 5pm, at the following Council offices:

and
Downpatrick Planning Office,
Downshire Civic Centre,
Downshire Estate, Ardglass Road,
Downpatrick, BT30 6GQ

Please note that in accordance with Regulation 17 of the Planning (Local Development Plan) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015, names and addresses on representations have been published on our website and made available for public inspection. Personal data such as signatures, telephone numbers and personal email addresses have been redacted.
We are also required to submit the counter representations to the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) as they will be considered as part of the Independent Examination process. Counter representations will be treated in accordance with the LDP Privacy Notice which is available on the Council’s website at www.newrymournedown.org/local-development-plan.
