Newry, Mourne and Down Youth Voice
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council is seeking enthusiastic young people to join Youth Voice. This programme is designed to represent and champion the views of young people across the district.
Young people aged 16 to 21 who live in the Newry, Mourne and Down area are invited to apply.
What Is Youth Voice?
Newry, Mourne and Down Youth Voice gives young people the opportunity to:
- Engage directly with key decision-makers
- Share their views on local issues
- Meet new people and build friendships
- Represent the needs and interests of young people in their area
- Take an active role in local decision-making processes
This two-year programme is delivered by the Community Planning Partnership in collaboration with the Education Authority Youth Service and other statutory partners.
What to Expect
Youth Voice members will meet weekly to discuss, explore, and take forward issues that matter to young people locally.
Participants will also have opportunities to:
- Attend residentials
- Take part in study visits across the UK and Ireland
- Develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
Who Can Apply?
Everyone is welcome to apply, regardless of background, abilities, or interests.
We are particularly keen to hear from young people across the full geographical area and from underrepresented groups. This is to ensure Youth Voice truly reflects the diversity of our district.
