Strategic Stakeholder Forum
The Strategic Stakeholder Forum (SSF) was established in 2017 and forms part of the Community Planning Function within the district. The Forum is an independent collective representing the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector (VCSE) sector in Newry, Mourne and Down with membership of the Community Planning Partnership Board. The forum is Chaired by Nicholas McCrickard (CDRCN) and Raymond Jackson (CCG).
Since their inception the SSF have worked collaboratively to deliver the outcomes of the community plan. They are represented on community planning working groups and the Community Planning Partnership Board. They are also members of the District Electoral Area forums.
The SSF were instrumental in providing an effective community response to the pandemic, working alongside NMD and other Statutory Partners in ensuring a coordinated solution to meet the needs within the Community.
Other Key projects include; Social Prescribing, Social Supermarket, Asylum seekers Fund, Hardship Fund, Norbrook We care at Christmas programme, Employ me, Community Transport project through the UK Prosperity funding as well as being actively involved in Participatory Budgeting and the Community Support Partnership. An update on these projects can be found in the Statement of Progress 2024/25
