Public Health Complaints

The Council investigates a range of public health complaints, including:

• Accumulations of dog fouling within residential properties
• Accumulations of household waste
• Problems with privately rented homes
• Drainage issues
• Bad smells or odours
• Dilapidated or run-down buildings
• Smoke, dust, or fumes
• Pest activity

In most cases, problems can be sorted out through advice and informal action.

If the person responsible doesn’t fix the issue, the Council may be able to issue a legal notice to make sure it’s resolved.
