Social Investment Fund - 'Work It' Training and Employment Programme
The aim of the ‘Work It’ programme is to give people who have been out of the labour market for a while, a bridge to the world of work by improving their skills and general employability. The programme provides 48 weeks training and employment for 160 participants in the Southern Zone.
The Southern Zone covers the three new council areas of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council and Mid Ulster District Council with Newry, Mourne and Down District Council as the lead Council.
The programme aims to build confidence, increase self-esteem and provide accredited training opportunities for participants while also adopting a partnership approach to delivering 500 community regeneration projects.
This programme ended in March 2018. However if you are a community group within the top 20% most deprived Super Output Areas within Lurgan, Newry, Coalisland and Portadown and would be interested in delivering a community project with a participant from the programme please contact the Programmes Unit for further information.
