Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, in partnership with the Sports Association Newry, Down and South Armagh (SANDSA), is delighted to host the annual Sports Awards on Friday 20 March 2026 at the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle.

The NMD Sports Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements, dedication and commitment of athletes, teams, coaches and volunteers from across the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area. The awards recognise sporting excellence and the positive impact of sport and physical activity throughout the period January to December 2025.

The ceremony will be presented by sports presenter, Thomas Niblock and will feature a guest panel discussion, “The Power of Women and Girls in Sport”, exploring inclusion, representation and leadership within the sporting community.
