Nominations Now Open for this year’s NMD Sports Awards

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, in partnership with the Sports Association Newry, Down and South Armagh (SANDSA), is delighted to announce that nominations are now open for this year’s NMD Sports Awards.

The NMD Sports Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements, dedication and commitment of athletes, teams, coaches and volunteers from across the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area. The awards recognise sporting excellence and the positive impact of sport and physical activity throughout the period January to December 2025.

Winners will be revealed at the Awards ceremony taking place on Friday 20 March 2026 at the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle.

How to Nominate

Nominations are open to athletes, sports clubs, schools, community groups, local organisations and members of the public across the district.

The closing date for completed nominations is 4pm on Monday 26 January 2026.

The Council and SANDSA encourage everyone to take this opportunity to recognise and celebrate the individuals and teams who make a lasting contribution to sport and physical activity across the district.

Tickets for the event will be available week beginning Monday 2 February 2026.
