Kilkeel Lower Square and River Walk Environmental Improvement Scheme

An Environmental Improvement Scheme is in the process of being designed for the Lower Square and River Walk in Kilkeel. 

The overall aim of the improvements is to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the public space extending primarily from the Lower Square car park along the River Walk pathway to the Rooney Road Bridge Entrance point. 
 
The proposed works will comprise an upgrade of the existing toilet block, carpark lighting, planting and footway improvements, river cleansing pedestrian footbridge replacement. At the river walk there will be a new surface, lighting and access improvements and playpark upgrade.
