Ring Of Gullion Easter Tours
Do You Feel Like a Tourist in the Area You Were Born? Then It’s Time to Define Your Destination.
Have you heard of the Ring of Gullion, but don’t know much about it? This Easter, the Ring of Gullion will be offering two avenues to learn more about this great area.
On Thursday 31 March, the popular coach trip will take place. The trip will begin in Newry and will make its way gently through the rolling hills of South Armagh, visiting built heritage sites of importance in the area.
If you want something a bit more energetic, a walking tour will be taking place on Saturday 2 April. The walk will start at Tí Chulainn Centre, Mullaghbawn at 11.30am and will travel along the Poet’s Trail taking in stunning views of the area. Members of the local Gap of the North Walking Group will be guiding the tour.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Mickey Ruane said, “We are delighted to be offering these tours for free over the Easter break. Booking is essential and we are advising anyone who is keen to experience these tours, to book their space as soon as possible on www.ringofgullion.org and click on Events”.
All the tours are free and are supported by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, the Heritage Lottery Fund, and Northern Ireland Environment Agency through the Ring of Gullion AONB and Landscape Partnership.
