Removal and Retention of Bottle and Can Banks at Council Locations

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council has recently undertaken a review for Bottle and Can Bank placements across the district.

Usage at the sites has decreased significantly due to the success of our Household Blue Bin Recycling Collection Service.

All Householders are in receipt of a Blue Bin, which is collected fortnightly. Glass, bottles and jars may be placed into householders Blue Bins .

The Council has decided to retain Bottle and Can Banks at all of our Household Recycling Centres and other essential Council facilities. 

Arrangements have commenced from Monday 19 April for a contractor to remove Bottle, Can Banks and signage from other locations. 

Removal of these banks will be advertised in the local press and via the Council’s corporate social media channels.
