Easter Holiday Arrangements 2026

Refuse Collection

All household and commercial waste collections will take place as normal on Easter Monday and Tuesday.

Residents are reminded to present their bins at the kerbside by 6.00am on the day of collection. Excess waste presented alongside bins will not be collected.

Household Recycling Centres

All Household Recycling Centres will be open as normal on Easter Monday and Tuesday.

Leisure Centres

Ballymote Sports and Wellbeing Centre, Newcastle Centre and St. Colman’s Sports Complex

• Monday 6 April – Closed
• Tuesday 7 April – Closed

Down Leisure Centre and Newry Leisure Centre

• Sunday 5 April – Closed
• Monday 6 April – Open 9.30am – 4.00pm
• Tuesday 7 April – Open 9.30am – 4.00pm

Normal opening hours will resume for all leisure centres on Wednesday 8 April 2026.

Council Offices

Our Council Offices will be closed on Easter Monday and Tuesday, reopening on Wednesday 8 April.
