Chairperson Meets With Chosen Charities in Advance of Charity Ball

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Gillian Fitzpatrick met with representatives from the four Charities who will benefit from the Charity Ball;

• Southern Area Hospice
• Mind Your Mate and Yourself (MYMY) and PIPS
• The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust
• Autism H.A.N.D.

Councillor Fitzpatrick said, “I am truly humbled and amazed by the work of each of these Charities. Many of you have suffered personal tragedy which has led to your commitment to your Charity, through which help is given to others in some of the most challenging of times.  I commend you for the work you do and I commit to ensuring the Charity Ball is an excellent fundraiser for your Charities, as well as being a fantastic evening for all who attend.”

Councillor Fitzpatrick continued, “I am also grateful to our sponsors Felix O’Hare and Re-Gen Waste Ltd for their invaluable financial contribution and to the Canal Court and McCaddens for their generous in-kind support, all of which will ensure that more money will go directly to the Charities”.

The Ball will take place on Friday 12 May 2017 in the Canal Court Hotel, Newry. It will begin with a champagne reception, followed by dinner and entertainment and concluding with five piece band ‘The Nooks’.
