Health Initiative Participants Enjoy Weight Loss and New Healthy Lifestyle
Participants from Killyleagh, who took part in a free Council led Health Initiative, were presented with gifts from Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Vice Chairperson, Oksana McMahon on the completion of the 12 week programme.
The Health Initiative programme, which took place at the Bridge Centre, Killyleagh, aimed to improve the health and wellbeing of local people and help them adopt a new lifestyle. Through participation in fitness classes, walks and health seminars, an average weight loss of 18lbs per participant was achieved. It is hoped that the participants will continue with their new lifestyle and encourage others to join them.
Also in attendance at the presentation were Councillors Terry Andrews and Billy Walker (front row) and the Council’s Community Services Manager, Joe Deegan (far left).
