Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, Newry

Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, situated on Bank Parade Newry in the heart of the City, first opened its doors to the public on 19 February 1982.  Its original title was Newry Arts Centre, but was re-named in 2003 to honour Newry man Sean Hollywood, teacher, sports coach, civil rights activist and exponent of the arts.

The Centre has undergone refurbishment of its theatre and studio facilities, and opens all year round.

It comprises:

  • 150 Seat Theatre
  • 2 Art Galleries
  • Art Studio
  • Meeting Rooms
  • Workshop

The Council has provided the venue not only as a home for the arts, but as a facility for public and private sector hire.  All areas are accessible and a wide programme of events and activities are on offer.

It is the venue for many of the local arts groups events including Newry Musical Feis, Cloughmore Male Voice Choir, Accolade Choir, Newpoint Players, Reynolds School of Dance, Newry Art Society, Newry Film Club, and many more.
