PCSP Community Safety and Wellbeing Event at Newry Leisure Centre

Newry, Mourne and Down Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) is inviting people to a free Community Safety and Wellbeing Event at Newry Leisure Centre on Friday, 6 March 2026, from 10am to 1pm.

The family-friendly, drop-in event is being organised in partnership with Southern Connections and open to people of all ages. It aims to bring together local organisations, service providers and residents to promote community safety, physical wellbeing and mental health in a welcoming and informal setting.

There will be an opportunity to visit a wide range of information stands and take part in interactive activities and demonstrations, with the event featuring over 20 organisations, including the emergency services, health providers, voluntary and community groups and officials from a number of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Departments, all available to offer advice, guidance and support.

The event will also feature a road safety demonstration by the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS), with those in attendance able to watch firefighters demonstrate how they deal with cars and passengers following road accidents.

The Newry Leisure Centre event is designed to help residents better understand what support is available locally and how to access it, while encouraging stronger connections across the community.

Newry, Mourne and Down PCSP Chairperson, Councillor Henry Reilly said, “The Community Safety and Wellbeing Event is a great opportunity for people to meet a range of local service providers face-to-face, ask questions, and find out what support is available to them in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

“By bringing so many organisations together under one roof, we hope to make it easier for individuals and families to access practical advice that can help them stay safe, support their wellbeing, and feel more connected to their community.”

Cllr Reilly is encouraging people of all ages to attend the Newry Leisure Centre event to engage with those from a wide range of organisations.
