Families Enjoy Fun Filled Afternoon at Belleek Party in the Park Event

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council’s Slieve Gullion District Electoral Area (DEA) Forum was delighted to host a successful Belleek Party in the Park event on Friday, 16 May, bringing together local families and children for an afternoon filled with fun, laughter and community spirit.

The event was organised by the DEA with support from the Belleeks Regeneration Group and part-funded by the Multi-Disciplinary Social Work Team within the Newry and District Federation of Family Practices.

Children and families enjoyed a wide range of exciting activities throughout the day, including a wildlife treasure hunt, arts and crafts caterpillar making, face painting, large bubble displays and plenty of fun exploring the new play park.

The event created a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, encouraging families to spend quality time together while connecting with others in the local community.

Slieve Gullion DEA Forum Chairperson, Councillor Aine Quinn said, “The Party in the Park highlighted the importance of providing accessible community events that promote wellbeing, social connection and positive outdoor play opportunities for children and young people.

“Events like these continue to play an important role in strengthening community relationships and creating opportunities for families to come together in a positive and inclusive environment.”
