Council Welcomes Pacific Northwest PGA Delegation to Mourne Gullion Strangford

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council has welcomed representatives from the Pacific Northwest Section of the PGA of America as part of a familiarisation visit hosted by NI Golf Tours to showcase the district’s outstanding golf and hospitality experiences across the district.

The visit provided an opportunity to highlight the area’s internationally recognised golf courses, stunning natural landscapes, quality accommodation and distinctive visitor experiences, which together make Mourne Gullion Strangford a leading destination for golf tourism.

As part of the itinerary, the delegation played at two of the district’s most celebrated courses, Ardglass Golf Club and Royal County Down Golf Club, experiencing first-hand the quality of the world-class links that continue to attract golfers from across the globe.

During their stay, the group enjoyed the renowned hospitality of the iconic Slieve Donard Hotel, the itinerary also included a distinctive local experience — a welcome whiskey tasting with Killowen Distillery, celebrating the region’s rich food and drink heritage.
