Connect, Recruit and Grow at the 2026 Newry, Mourne and Down Job Fair
Employers from across Newry, Mourne and Down are being encouraged to take part in this year’s Newry, Mourne and Down Job Fair, an established recruitment event designed to bring businesses and jobseekers together under one roof.
The event will take place on Wednesday 3 June at the Canal Court Hotel, Newry, between 10am and 1.30pm, and is delivered by the Newry, Mourne and Down Labour Market Partnership in partnership with Cross Border Partnership Employment Services.
Labour Market Partnerships, which create targeted employment action plans for council areas, are funded by the Department for Communities, and allow for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work. The Job Fair is a key part of this approach, creating a space where meaningful connections can be made and opportunities realised.
Marking its fifth year, the event has grown into a well-attended fixture in the local employment calendar. It offers employers a practical and cost-effective way to raise awareness of their organisation, highlight current vacancies, and meet potential recruits in person.
Attendees typically include individuals at all stages of their career journey, from those entering the workforce for the first time to experienced candidates exploring new directions.
A broad mix of sectors will be represented, including engineering, health and social care, retail, administration, logistics, construction, and financial services. Employers can promote a variety of roles suited to different needs, whether permanent, temporary, part-time, or flexible positions.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Philip Campbell said, “The Job Fair continues to play an important role in supporting local economic growth by helping employers find the people they need.
“It also gives jobseekers the chance to engage directly with organisations in a relaxed and informative setting. We’ve seen strong interest from businesses in previous years, and we would encourage early registration again this year.”
Participation is free for exhibitors, offering an accessible way for organisations of all sizes to promote opportunities and strengthen their local presence. Employers interested in participating can register at http://bit.ly/NewryCBJF26
