Carryduff Forklift Rallye Lecale 2026 Huge Success

The Carryduff Forklift Rallye Lecale reached an exciting conclusion on 25 February in Downpatrick with Jonny Greer and Nial Burns crowned the winners. The duo were presented with their award by our Chairperson, Councillor Glyn Hanna, with their win also securing the 2026 Brown & Brown Northern Ireland Rally Championship title which Greer has now won six times.

Rally fans from across Ireland and beyond flocked to the town for the high profile motorsport event supported by the Council and Downpatrick Regeneration Working Group.

There was a real buzz in the town centre, at the Market Street car parks service area and out at the stages with fans enjoying the event which featured drivers from France and Australia, alongside those from Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. The rally action was preceded by an exciting Auto-Test on 23 February and ceremonial start the following evening outside the St Patrick Centre, with competitors officially waved off by the Council Chairperson.
